“So many of our dreams at first seem impossible. Then they seem improbable. And then, when we summon the will, they soon become inevitable.” Christopher Reeve
Have you ever said, ‘Oh I could never do that.’
It’s a very common phrase in the human vernacular. We say it, hear it, we feel it.
When we see someone doing a thing that seems impossible, we assume they’ve got a knack for it, or some special gift, but oftentimes, they’ve developed the ability by making the choice to do it, then piecing the objective together little by little over a long span of time.
The most common questions I get are about writing books. The conversation usually goes something like this: ‘So how long did it take you to write a book?’
I give my answer and then the response is: ‘Oh, I could never write a book.’
My response is always the same: ‘Yes you can. You just have to decide you’re going to tell your story, then sit down day after day and chip away at the writing.’
